Following on from celebrating our 40th anniversary, Cranleigh Ladies Hockey Club are planning a very exciting year in 2017. Not only are the Ladies 1st XI in pole position to secure promotion in the Surrey Ladies Hockey League but plans are also underway to create a new, bigger and more inclusive Cranleigh Hockey Club by merging with the recently formed Cranleigh Mens Hockey Club. Cranleigh Men were formed last season and in their first year won their division in the Surrey Open League and, following promotion to Division 4, are unbeaten and looking very likely to win promotion again this season. Both teams train at Cranleigh School Astroturf on Wednesdays at 19.30hrs.

As well as continuing to run existing ladies and mens teams, the new Cranleigh Hockey Club are hoping to create a mixed team for social hockey in the summer and eventually develop a youth section to give local girls and boys the opportunity to play the game. There will also be umpiring courses and goalkeeper coaching, as well as regular training with a qualified coach.

Everyone remembers the fantastic moment when GB Ladies won Gold at Rio ! – Get inspired and come and join Cranleigh Hockey Club. A very friendly, family-orientated club and best value hockey in the area. New players, all ages and abilities, always welcome.
